We help veterans and first responders find balance and purpose through the therapeutic activities of standup paddling, surfing, and exercise

Raising awareness for the 22 veterans we lose to suicide every day.

Our Partners:
The Battle Creek VA

The Battle Creek VA Medical Center and associated clinics deliver comprehensive healthcare guided by the needs of veterans, their families, and caregivers.

By working together, 4THE22 helps extend the VA’s mission beyond clinical care and supports the Whole Health approach, offering programs that promote mental wellness, peer support, and healing through outdoor, physical, and communal experiences.

Board for Our
Heroes Program

As part of our commitment to giving back, Board for Our Heroes is our signature initiative to provide paddleboards to veterans. Here’s how it works:

  • Who qualifies: Veterans served either through our events, our partner VA facilities or through referrals.

  • When the boards are given: Typically at special events throughout the year or during dedicated Board for Our Heroes ceremonies. We announce dates via our website, newsletter, and through VA partner channels.

  • Why: A paddleboard isn’t just equipment, it represents a symbol of support, a tool for therapy, a way to reconnect with nature, and a chance to build a community.
